Hope Floats Education & Awareness Response Team (H.E.A.R.T.)

The goal of our H.E.A.R.T. team is to provide training to raise awareness about grief through education and community outreach. This encompasses grief trainings and presentations for professionals, educators, parents/caregivers, and members of the community.

The Hope Floats Team will work with schools to help educate parents, faculty, and staff about how grief impacts children and teens. We can provide the following:

  • Trainings during Professional Development Days (before a death has occurRed)
  • Trainings for faculty and staff (after the death has occurRed)
  • Education for parents/caregivers

After a significant death within the school community we can provide the following:

  • Time-limited grief counseling support for students
  • Time-limited grief support group for students dealing with the death

Ongoing grief support can be provided through our Weaving Hope Club. We can provide two week sessions during the school year:

  • A grief group for students who have had a significant loss of a family member or close friend
  • Each Weaving Hope Club sessions will run for 8 weeks
