Hope Floats is thrilled to host author Aine Greaney for this 2-part, virtual workshop!

This workshop will inspire you to get and keep writing for your everyday wellness, recovery and self-empowerment.

Emotional or expressive writing is not about being a “good” or “clever” writer. Instead, it’s about using writing as part of your self-care toolbox. Since the early 1980’s, over 300 clinical studies have shown the psychological and physical benefits of emotional or expressive writing.

The sessions will include brief, opening meditations, teaching and discussion, fun writing prompts, in session writing exercises and optional sharing. Between sessions, participants will be given guidelines for starting their practice.

Perfect for beginners, reluctant writers and anyone who wants to explore writing and journaling as a route to self-reflection and `connection or as a way to plan for next life steps.
*Please note, workshop offered via zoom.

About the facilitator: Aine Greaney has presented or led workshops at regional and national conferences, including the Examined Life Conference at the Carver School of Medicine (University of Iowa), the North Shore Cancer Resource, the Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference Center, the Youth at Risk Conference, the Cape Cod Writers Conference and the Writers Digest National Conference in New York City. In addition to writing, she has worked in
healthcare communications for 20-plus years. She’s the author of Writer with a Day Job: Inspiration and Exercises to Help You Craft a Writing Life alongside Your Career (Random House) and her essays have appeared in The Boston Globe Magazine, The New York Times, Creative Nonfiction, the Journal of Expressive Writing, World of Psychology, Salon, Huffington Post, KevinMD, Edutopia, WBUR/NPR, and other publications.
