Surviving Grief: Finding Your Way from Grief to Healing Workshop with Gary Sturgis

After the death of his spouse, Gary Sturgis thought there was no possibility of ever feeling joyful or happy again. His life had changed and he was in a very dark place. But over time, he progressed through his grief journey and eventually began to experience light and happy moments. He was healing, and today he is a survivor. You can be a survivor too!
In this special Workshop, Gary throws you a “life preserver” if you’re drowning in your grief. He knows first-hand the intense feelings of pain and sadness after the death of a loved one. He allowed himself to experience those emotions and came to realize they wouldn’t last forever.
Gary uses his own path to healing as a reference, together with lessons learned as a health-care professional and grief specialist to help others find their own way to healing after a loss. He will take you through the physical and emotional effects of grief, helping you to navigate its difficult aspects while teaching you to recover during the process.
Gary will share his own personal stories, offering helpful advice and reassuring guidance, so you can learn new ways to honor your loved one by finding your own way from grief to healing.

Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center is a local non-profit in Kingston, MA that helps our neighbors and families cope with life’s most challenging trials. During the past 14 years, our free support groups for children, teens, and adults who have experienced loss have helped thousands of people move forward in their grief.

The golf tournament and dinner will celebrate loved ones we’ve lost and honor them by raising funds for support services that bring hope and healing to our community. Your participation will help sustain our nonprofit’s outreach for years to come.

Based in Kingston, Hope Floats provides free services to about 700 people a year. Grieving children, adults, and families gain coping skills in a safe and confidential setting where they are accompanied by others walking a similar path. As the need for support services continues to grow, Hope Floats currently offers a dozen support groups. Those include groups for parents who have lost a child, to overdose and suicide loss, partner-spouse loss, and others including our Mike’s Club program for families.

Hope Floats could not provide resources to local families in their time of need without community partners like you!

Thanks for considering partnering with us in this “Renewal of Hope” event.
