Britta Nielsen

Masters Level Intern

Britta joined Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center as an intern in the beginning of January 2024. She is currently finishing her requirements for a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Bridgewater State University. Throughout her career, Britta has always loved working with people, previously as a personnel trainer and consultant in Germany, as a consultant for German-speaking expatriates and their families in New York City, and as a personal historian helping people telling their life stories here in Massachusetts. A significant loss in her family inspired her desire to help individuals and families cope with the loss of a loved one. Having been a member of bereavement support groups for many years, she has come to understand and appreciate how instrumental and existential it is to not walk on one’s own while grieving, but being surrounded by a community that provides a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment for healing.

Currently, Britta is facilitating the adult sibling loss group and co-facilitates various bereavement groups for children at Hope Floats. She is looking forward to soon helping individual clients in their journey through grief.
